Meet the Pastor: Daniel Lee
Where good old fashioned values meet youthful enthusiasm, passion, and desire.
I have been involved in youth work since my days in high school when I volunteered to help with ministries such as Vacation Bible School and Middle School retreats/events. With over 12 years of experience in youth ministry in volunteering and pastoral work I consider myself to have a calling to youth alone when it comes to ministry within the Church. I attended George Fox for a year of my undergraduate studies, before switching to Moody Bible Institute whereupon I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies. I firmly believe that the foundation to any solid relationship with Christ is the Bible. I endeavor to teach, preach, and live out the Word of God to every student who enters CRAVE Youth Ministry.
Welcome to CRAVE Youth Ministry!
We in the CRAVE Youth Ministry believe not only in creating a loving, warm, and exciting atmosphere for all students to have a good time and thrive in, but we also believe in equipping them with the spiritual tools they will need to navigate through the difficult time of adolescence. While games are music are included weekly, they are not the main focus. It is our goal to make sure that every student is a student of the Word and a committed disciple of Jesus Christ.
Attention: All Scripture references are from the Holman Christian Standard Bible unless noted otherwise.

James 1:1 - "James, a slave of God"
Slave is one of those words no one likes to use. But when it is in reference to our relationship with God, it becomes something entirely different than the word representing the pain and suffering of millions. Each of us are bound in slavery to our sin, so when we become slaves of God we are trading one master for another. Submission to God is a choice. When we decide to become a slave to God we find that we are set free from the sin that once held power over our lives. While I was in South Africa many years ago I visited a wildlife reserve. It was hundreds of square miles on which the animals were allowed to roam freely without danger of men hunting or killing them. Being a slave to God means living on the reserve; sure there are boundaries, but they are generous and include everything that is good and essential for our lives. If we live outside the reserve there is no disputing that there is more space, but that space comes with a high cost. Outside the reserve we must realize that satan and others are waiting eagerly to trap us, hurt us, or even kill us. Freedom in the safety of God's boundaries is more desirable than being without boundaries yet still held captive by the schemes of men.
CRAVE Youth Ministry is focus on achieving 5 Standards:
|Standard (Definition & How it is Measured)||Scriptural Support For Standard||When this Standard is Accomplished||Means of Achieving this Standard|
|Submission to Authority: every student will recognize, accept and follow the instruction given by God and His Word; as well as any other authority figure in his or her life.||Proverbs 3:5,6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart… in all your ways acknowledge him” Romans 13:1-2: “Everyone must submit to governing authorities…” Ephesians 6:1-4: “Children, obey your parents as you would the Lord, because this is right” 1 Thessalonians 5:12-14: “…give recognition to those who labor among you and lead you in the Lord…” 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching…” Titus 3:1,2: “Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to obey…”||Sunday School, Wednesday & Sunday PM||Discipleship Training, Fear of God, Reverence for Scripture, Submission to Authorities, Ten Commandments|
|Foundational Bible Knowledge: each student is to be able to recite the 66 books in order from beginning to end and describe what each one is about in a sentence or less.||Deuteronomy 11:18: “Imprint these words of mine on your hearts and minds, bind them as a sign on your hands, and let them be a symbol on your forehead.” Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.” 119:125: “I am Your servant; give me understanding so that I may know Your decrees.”||Sunday PM||Biblical Book Overviews, Biblical Book Studies, Scripture Memorization, Hermeneutics|
|Formational Bible Knowledge: each student is to have read his or her entire Bible through from cover to cover at least once.||Deuteronomy 29:29: “The hidden things belong to the Lord our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.” Psalm 119:128: “I carefully follow all Your precepts and hate every false way.” 119:151: “You are near Lord, and all your commands are true.”||Sunday School & Sunday PM||Biblical Book Overviews, Biblical Book Studies, Scripture Memorization, Hermeneutics|
|Assurance of Salvation: when asked if they know Christ as Lord and Savoir and whether they are going to heaven, their response is to be that they know without any doubt that they have received eternal life through Christ Jesus||2 Corinthians 1:21,22: “Now it is God who strengthens us, with you, in Christ and has anointed us. He has also sealed us and given us the Spirit as a down payment in our hearts.” 5:5-7: “And the One who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment. So, we are always confident…” Hebrews 10:19-23: “Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus… let us draw near with a true heart and full assurance of faith…”||Wednesday||Repentance of Sins, Ministry of Christ, Deposit of the Holy Spirit, Victory over Flesh, Faith, Covenant Relationship|
|Evangelism: when asked by anyone to give the reason for the way they live their life (their testimony); be able to articulate their testimony clearly: including how they came to know Jesus as savior, the work that God has done in their lives, and what He is calling them to do in the future through the power of the Holy Spirit.|
